Red stroller

Alte Zachen – or the old with the new 2

One just can’t ignore spring. I already wrote about the spring amazing campaign, and this year it seems like I can’t help noticing what becomes a miniseries of a different kind of spring blooming.

On Tuesdays and Fridays you can spot them in every other corner waiting for the garbage pickup. Piles of old stuff kicked out due to the spring cleanup brought by Passover fever, this time I couldn’t stay indifferent to this red broken baby stroller …

I know we’ve got to “let them fall” to make room for new things to happen, but some of these objects talk to me, as if they have a personality that is really offended by the sad ending of their use.

As I was standing there I heard the loud sound of speakers shouting  “Alte Zachen!!”  ( means old things in Yiddish, this is a typical Israeli junk dealers scene ). The Alte Zachen car stopped next to the pile and gave me an optimistic outlook on the situation. These guys are going to pick up some of this broken stuff, fix it and resell it, who knows, they might even give that stroller a new beginning…
