This morning’s coffee break is with René. Actually, we drink tea (she prefers it), accompanied by little almond cookies Manuela, her best friend, brought to this sacred ceremony. “To eat, even a nut, one must first spread a tablecloth,” Manuela says.
Next, they boil coffee, just for its indulging smell. Then, they have their tea quietly. Slowly sipping, with small gestures that turn rich and poor into taste aristocrats and bring peace and harmony to a meaningless moment. Eternity purified into a fleeting moment in time.
Like “Camellia on mold….” the author words, like forever in the never, my words, or as a friend simplified it for me “something very beautiful on something very ugly!”. (:
Just go and read it, slowly, and then read it again, while eating a plum (you’ll understand later…), and don’t miss a crumb – I know I’m reading it again.
